Built in 1666 by the architect Jacques Fossé, the so-called "mossy" fountain is one of three fountains on the Cours Mirabeau. It was to be decorated with a triton, replaced three years later by four children supporting a basin from which the city's water came out. We no longer see any of this today. What remains is a large, deformed die covered in moss.
