Sculpted in 1667 by Jean-Claude Rambot on the old Place Mazarine, the Fountain of the Four Dolphins quickly imposed its style. So much so that it gave its new name to the square, the street which crosses it retaining that of Mazarine.
Protected as a Historic Monument in 1905, it consists of a circular pool made of cold Sainte Baume stone, the center of which is occupied by an offset obelisk supported by four dolphins. Their caudal fins are sculpted from Calissanne stone.
