We take advantage of the skills that many women and young people bring with them and give them the tools to value their work — and their identity 👩🔧🧑🎓. We are thus generating sustainable employability solutions and contributing to true inclusion 🤝, in a model that we intend to replicate in several parts of the country 🇵🇹. And because integration is a two-way process, we thought it was important to also organize workshops and debates 🗣️👥, which help bring people closer together, reduce ignorance and dispel prejudices 🌐💡. The first Mezze opened in Lisbon, at the Arroios Market, in September 2017 🍽️🎉. It has been highlighted as an example of success in the integration of refugees 👏🤗, notably by Prime Minister António Costa 👨💼, President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa 🇵🇹, and the European Commissioner responsible for Migration, Home Affairs and Citizenship, Dimitris Avramopoulos 🇪🇺.
