The exhibition is housed in a summer palace dating back to the first half of the 18th century, nestled within the remnants of an old manor house. 🏰 Built between 1734 and 1746 under the patronage of Diogo de Sousa Mexia, a prominent figure during the reigns of King Pedro II and King João V, the architectural project's authorship remains unknown.

Throughout its history, the palace has changed hands several times, with notable owners including Manuel Joaquim Pimenta de Carvalho, from whom it derives its current name. In 1914, the palace was acquired by Jorge Lobo de Ávila Graça, who conducted significant renovations, some of which still contribute to the palace's distinctive appearance today. 🏛️✨
